Located in the nation’s #1 eye
hospital, Bascom Palmer Eye
Institute, the Eye Bank also
maintains a highly regarded
ophthalmic pathology laboratory
serving physicians worldwide
and provides resources and tissue
for teaching and research.
Imagine never being able
to see another beautiful
Florida sunset. There are
thousands of Floridians living
in blindness and for some,
a cornea transplant is the
only hope.
Founded in 1962, the
Florida Lions Eye Bank is
one of the nation’s oldest
and largest non-profit
organizations dedicated
to providing donor eye tissue
for transplantation.
In its over 50 year history, more
than 40,000 people have benefited
from the Florida Lions Eye Bank’s
mission to Give the Gift of Sight.
This, of course, would not have
been possible without the
generosity of eye donors and
their families.
